The North Carolina Problem Gambling Program will receive funding from the revenue generated by sports betting to provide resources and support for individuals who may be struggling with gambling addiction.

The legalization of online sports betting in North Carolina is part of a larger trend across the United States. Since the Supreme Court struck down a federal ban on sports betting in 2018, more than 30 states have legalized sports betting in some form.

However, not everyone is in favor of the legalization of sports betting. Some opponents argue that it can lead to an increase in problem gambling and can have negative social and economic consequences.
