To support employers in keeping up with new laws and regulations resulting from COVID-19, Sierra College is sponsoring the Butte College COVID-19 Employer Weekly Update on April 27 at 1-2 PM with attorney Ann Wicks, who will take questions during the program.
Sierra College Training is sponsoring a complimentary COVID-19 Employer Weekly Update on April 27 from 1-2 PM with employment attorney Ann Wicks. The series of employer updates is offered by The Training Place at Butte College.
During the Employer Update webinar, Wicks will cover the most recent regulations, new laws and guidance issued by the government in response to COVID-19. Participants can ask questions about furloughs, layoffs and other operational issues they face during this crisis. Wicks will provide the latest developments on Emergency COVID-19 Sick Leave and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). The webinar includes insights on other impacts on business operations and employee management resulting from the pandemic.
I am monitoring all of the changes as the week progresses and incorporating them into the webinar.
According to Wicks, there has been a steady progression of information to report each week. “I am monitoring all of the changes as the week progresses and incorporating them into the webinar,” said Wicks. “Because the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) continues to be an area with a lot of questions, the first half of the webinar focuses on that. I’m building the common questions that I’m receiving into the discussion. During the second half, we pivot to the other areas where new regulations or guidance have been issued and take questions as we go.”
Wicks has over 25 years of experience assisting employers in all aspects of employment and labor law. A former partner at Littler Mendelson, and of counsel at Cooley Godward, Wicks has broad-based experience across a variety of industries on issues such as wage and hour law, harassment and discrimination claims, workplace investigations, employee leaves and all aspects of the employee life cycle from pre-hire to termination.
