Sierra College and APICS offer Supply Chain Management Class starting January 13 in Roseville

ROCKLIN – To help businesses improve inventory management efficiency, Sierra College is offering a course on Supply Chain Management – Execution and Control of Operations starting January 13 through February 19. Participants will benefit from learning methods to prioritize and sequence work, execute work plans, implement control, report results and evaluate performance. In addition, the course explains techniques for scheduling and controlling production processes, the execution of quality initiatives and continuous improvement plans, and the control and handling of inventories. The class is offered at the Sierra Gateway Campus at 333 Sunrise in Roseville on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-9 PM.

The Sierra College Workforce Development Division (www.sierracollegetraining.com) through the Center for Applied Competitive Technologies (CACT) is co-sponsoring the course with the Sacramento Chapter of APICS – The Association for Operations Management (www.apicsacramento.com).

Sierra College is taking registrations now at www.sierracollegetraining.com. The course fee is $550 ($499 for APICS members) plus books.

The course will also prepare participants for the APICS professional exam to become certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM). APICS administers the CPIM test. Other Supply Chain Management courses will be offered in 2009:

Master Planning of Resources – March 3 to April 9, 2009
Strategic Management of Resources – April 21 to June 2, 2009
