a cost benefit ratio of one to 12. |

Statewide Center for Applied Competitive Technologies Initiative is a California
Community College Chancellor’s Office Economic Development
and Workforce Development program. The Sierra College CACT program
is one of 15 California centers that support manufacturers with technical assistance and work force
development so that they can compete successfully in changing
markets and the global economy. |

Development The purpose of the program is to advance the
state's economic growth and global competitiveness through education,
training and services that contribute to continuous workforce
improvement. The role of the community colleges in this effort
is to fulfill the vocational education and instructional needs
of California businesses and industry through leadership, communication
and liaisons with the private sector as well as with public
sector education and training providers. |

College Community Education offers short classes and activities
for Fun, for Work, and for Life. The not-for-credit classes
are offered as a complement to the college's instructional program,
and there are no grades or tests. This is a self-supporting
entity of Sierra College and course fees cover the cost of instruction

County Economic Development Placer County has one of the
fastest growing business communities in California. At this
site, review economic development studies, find out about business
financial assistance, study labor market data, utilize free
recruitment, training and incentives offered through Business

County Economic Resource Council (NCERC) is comprised of
business, government, community and educational entities. The
NCERC assists employers with building and land inventory, demographic
and economic information, financial resources, labor training,

Recycling Market Development Zone program combines recycling
with economic development to fuel new businesses, expand existing
ones, create jobs, and divert waste from landfills. This program

Golden Sierra Job Training Agency co-sponsors the Construction Bootcamp with Sierra College. The Golden Sierra One-Stop Career Center system is available to employers and job seekers alike. It provides workforce preparation services to job seekers increasing the employment, employment retention and earnings of the local workforce. |

49er Regional Occupational Program co-sponsors the Construction Bootcamp with Sierra College. 49er R.O.P. is a public education program offering career preparation classes to over 1,800 local high school students and adults each year. 49er R.O.P. is part of a statewide program designed to bring education and business together, working towards the common goal of educating California's for today's workforce. |
