Sierra College will host the City of Rocklin Mini Maker Faire on Saturday, October 6, 2018. Thousands of community members of all ages are expected to attend. They will be able to participate in many hands on science and technology projects on the spot.
Discovering new technologies and methods for making interesting projects is often the impetus that encourages people to become entrepreneurs. The Sierra College Makerspaces project, funded by CCC Maker, provides opportunities for students to develop prototypes, work alongside entrepreneurs and develop career skills on new tools and technologies. Stop by and see the Sierra College Makerspaces team at the Rocklin Mini Maker Faire.
Many other Sierra College programs will be sponsoring booths where attendees can learn from students about skills they can develop at Sierra College that could lead them to starting their own businesses.
The international phenomenon of Maker Faire is a “gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these “makers” to show hobbies, experiments, projects.”
