ROCKLIN — Sierra College Center for Applied Competitive Technologies (CACT – www.sierracollegetraining.com), offers business workshops on how to apply “Lean” tools to identify waste, increase efficiency and boost productivity. Lean Principles to Sustainability is scheduled for January 26 at the Sierra College Gateway Campus, 333 Sunrise in Roseville from 8:30 to 4:30 and the fee is $50. Participants will learn how to engage employees in more effective work practices using Lean tools and save money by focusing on sustainability. For instance, purchasing new office printers and switching to a policy of making double sided copies reduces energy and paper use while saving money. By learning Lean principles for identifying waste and improving processes, companies reduce expenses and increase production capacity. At this workshop, participants will benefit from industry examples, practical advice and hands-on exercises to reinforce concepts.
In this workshop, participants will:
- Find out how to apply Lean tools & methods to effectively reduce waste
- Learn how to improve productivity and sustainability
- Assess energy, recycling, computers and equipment use.
- Understand Lean Principles & how they are applied in an organization
- Become familiar with the elements of Sustainability
- Know what “value” means, and identify non-valued and waste activities
