To help growing companies from Sacramento to California’s northern border develop products more quickly and cost effectively, the Sierra College CACT now offers Rapid Prototyping services. For those interested in trends in the emerging field of 3D printing, Sierra College CACT has also just released an Additive Manufacturing Industry Evaluation and Recommendations report that includes comparison of personal 3D printers.
Using state-of-the-art Dimension BST and SST 3D printers, manufacturing, technology, construction, engineering, architecture and design companies and students can transform their unique creations into solid form. Keep in mind that our small staff does NOT offer a quick turn around and we can refer you to production shops offering rapid prototyping services that can be delivered more quickly
As a not-for-profit organization focused on helping small local manufacturers, Sierra College CACT can offer low fees of only $10 per cubic inch of material plus a $100 lab fee per build plate. Multiple parts may fit on the build plate. All of the proceeds pay for lab material costs and continuing workforce development programs. Parts can be picked up, or shipped to you at additional cost. Again, this program is designed to help small firms that are not on a tight schedule and have the time to wait for a cost effective prototype.
